SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A San Benito police officer lost his life in the line of duty during a lengthy vehicle pursuit, as reported by the Texas Municipal Police Association.
Cameron County Sheriff Eric Garza has officially confirmed the apprehension of two individuals in connection with the officer-involved shooting. Both are currently detained in Cameron County jail pending further investigation.
In a Tuesday afternoon operation, troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety collaborated with Cameron County authorities to intercept a vehicle evading a routine traffic stop.
