Samsung has launched the Galaxy Quantum2 smartphone in South Korea, and we expect it to hit the global market under the name Galaxy A82 5G. While the company hasn’t said anything official about such a device, it has accidentally listed it as an eligible phone for quarterly security updates.
Samsung models eligible for updates
We are confident the Quantum2 is a new Galaxy A smartphone because its specs do not line up with any existing midranger. It comes with a 6.7” Dynamic AMOLED screen with 1440p resolution and three cameras on the back – 64 MP main + 12 MP ultra-wide + 5 MP macro. The selfie camera is 10 MP, while the battery is just 4,500 mAh.
Where the Galaxy Quantum2/Galaxy A82 5G excels is the performance – it comes with a Snapdragon 855+ chipset which might be old but provides 5G connectivity and better heat management than any Snapdragon 7-series platform. The phone was also launched with a unique QRNG security chipset and we’re yet to see whether this feature will be available overseas.
